How to pick a Quality Password
Do
Make it 14 characters or more, use 3 out of the 4 types of keyboard characters (lower case, Upper case, numbers, special characters).
Make it something only you recognise, if you are stuck consider some of the following patterns.
Take a word and split it with some punctuation or repeated characters (eg. ccCCCymba*l or Aircraffft#).
Take some short words and combine them (eg. 9BigPigPugPan).
Use unpredictable capitalisation (don’t just capitalise the first letter of words) (eg. 9BIGpigPUGpan).
Mix languages, if you can, to make it super obscure (eg. #RED99ananas - easy to visualise).
Use all techniques to make it unbreakable, but memorable. (eg. R1EDananasAU!B could take 16 million centuries to break. That’s a 14 character password, a little long for most people but super secure).
Do Not
Base it on a single word adding numbers, even an obscure name (eg. Anonymous18! is easily guessed).
Replace letters with numbers or symbols – hackers know this technique (eg. P@55w0rd is easily guessed).
Use initial letters of poems or songs (eg. Iwlaac999 “I wandered lonely as a cloud” is easily guessed).
Use information linked to you on the Internet or Social Media, or use passwords you have previously used on Internet sites.
